Port Angeles, WA – BRIX Marine (formerly Armstrong Marine USA) is proud to debut its 3814-CTC catamaran, the newest addition to the RecPro line-up of custom vessels. The recently launched Bobbi Jean, a 38’ x 14’ planing catamaran, is yet another example of why BRIX Marine is “First in Catamarans.”
The 3814-CTC is powered by twin Yamaha 425hp outboards paired with Helm Master EX electronic steering and joystick controls at both the main and outdoor helm stations. Twin 250 gallon fuel tanks provide a range of 400 miles at the 27 knot (31 MPH) cruise speed while wide open throttle achieved 40 knots (47 MPH).
The 3814 size and full width climate-controlled cabin ensures that the vessel is well-appointed for comfortable overnight trips, while still providing a spacious interior. The cabin is arranged to maximize berthing, and can sleep 7 passengers. Berths include twin forward staterooms in the cuddy, a convertible dinette on the port side, and, only available for the 3814 model, an additional berth sunk into the starboard hull through a generous companionway. A full height head compartment with sink, shower, and flush toilet is housed behind the dinette on the port side. Across from the head, an expanded galley accommodates full size appliances including an upright fridge/freezer, a Force 10 electric stove with oven, and an isotherm freezer drawer mounted under the counter.
Bobbi Jean’s large aft deck with extended T-transom allows for ease of fishing or entertaining. The fish cleaning station, complete with drawers and gut chute, is mounted over the port battery locker, and is aft of a cold water sink. The aft deck also sports 2 self draining fish lockers, 18 rod holders, 2 downrigger mounting pads, and an Electra-Dyne trap hauler system. A fully electric articulating dinghy davit eases launch and recovery for a tender that can be situated on the cabin roof.
