PORT ANGELES, WA – BRIX Marine announces the delivery of R/V Sound Outlook, a custom 4416-CTC built for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP). The vessel departed Port Angeles by truck in early June 2026 and is bound for Old Lyme, Connecticut, where it will support the agency’s marine research and environmental monitoring operations. Sound Outlook is the latest in a series of research vessels BRIX Marine has delivered to government and scientific organizations across North America.

Sound Outlook is a LabCat-series catamaran with a 16-foot beam and an overall length of approximately 48 feet, constructed from 5086-alloy aluminum. Twin Scania DI13 marine diesel engines rated at 750 horsepower each drive Hamilton Jet HJ403 water jets, giving the vessel the speed and shallow-draft capability suited to Long Island Sound operations. Combined fuel capacity is 500 gallons.

PORT ANGELES, WA – BRIX Marine is proud to announce the delivery of It’s About Time, a custom-built 4818-HTC Offshore passenger catamaran from the company’s PaxCat lineup, built for FunToSee Island Ferry of Castries, St. Lucia. This marks the second vessel BRIX Marine has built for FunToSee Island, continuing a growing partnership between the two companies. FunToSee Island operates St. Lucia’s premier airport water ferry service, connecting travelers arriving at Hewanorra Airport with resorts and accommodations across the island.

Stretching 55 feet, 6 inches overall with an 18-foot beam, It’s About Time is certified under USCG Subchapter T to operate as a commercial passenger vessel. Power comes from four Yamaha 450HP XTO offshore outboards mounted on custom tandem offshore brackets, a configuration chosen to deliver the performance and reliability demanded by serious commercial operators in open water environments.

The vessel’s interior reflects a high level of finish throughout. The main cabin features Freedman Genoa Plus seating for 35 passengers, fixed Corian-topped tables seating up to 14, and a fully equipped concession area with laminate cabinetry, refrigerator, and direct-overboard sink drainage. Wall finishes in white carbon fiber, teak-and-holly deck vinyl, and Antique Limed Pine joinery give the cabin a warm, refined feel. Topside, the upper deck offers additional passenger seating beneath a custom multi-panel Stamoid enclosure with roll-up Strataglass windows, a tailored solution for operators who need weather protection without sacrificing the open-air experience.

Lighting throughout the vessel was upgraded to the Lumitec Poco system, including RGBW deck lighting on both the upper and aft decks, courtesy lighting fore and aft, and Rigid D-Series PRO LED deck lights at bow and stern. The electrical system includes a Victron inverter-charger, Blue Sea battery chargers, and AGM battery banks supporting both start and house loads.

Navigation and electronics are centered on a Garmin GPSMAP 8612xsv multifunction display, paired with 18HD radar, a Garmin Class B AIS transponder, and a four-camera IP surveillance system. A Fusion three-zone stereo with 1,500-watt amplifier rounds out the onboard amenities.

Safety equipment meets full USCG Subchapter T requirements, including life floats rated for 52 persons total, an EPIRB, a full complement of Type 1 life preservers, Fireboy fire suppression, and carbon monoxide and smoke detection throughout.

Following the successful launch of three sister vessels last year, Na Pali Experience selected BRIX Marine once again to deliver two more foil‑assist catamarans tailored to their demanding operating environment along the Na Pali Coast. The repeat order underscores the performance, reliability, and guest experience delivered by the original vessels.

Designed in collaboration with Jutson Marine Design, the 34′ Foil Assist Catamarans feature asymmetric hulls and midship‑mounted hydrofoils, providing exceptional seakeeping, speed, and passenger comfort in varying sea conditions. Measuring 12.5 meters (41 feet) with a 4.6-meter (15-foot) beam, Warrior is certified under USCG Subchapter T to carry 40 passengers plus crew. The vessel is powered by triple Suzuki 300HP dual-prop outboards, delivering the performance and reliability required for Hawaii’s dynamic marine environments.

Port Angeles, WA — September 15, 2025 — BRIX Marine has announced the delivery of Full Metal Jacket, a 3814-CTC-SWA Classic Tunnel Catamaran with starboard walkaround and flybridge lounge, designed as part of the company’s RecPro lineup. Built for recreational use in Alaska, the vessel combines fishing capability with the comfort needed for extended cruising. 

At 38 feet in hull length with a 14-foot beam and an overall length of 44 feet, Full Metal Jacket is powered by twin Yamaha XTO 450 horsepower outboards. Dual helm stations—one in the cabin and one on the aft deck—are equipped with joystick steering and autopilot for precise handling. Dual 250-gallon fuel tanks and a 20 kW Northern Lights generator provide range and reliability for multi-day trips. 

On deck, Full Metal Jacket features BRIX Marine’s Beachcomber bow door for direct shore access, an extended transom, fish lockers, and a dedicated cleaning station. Rod holders, downrigger pads, and a pot puller outfit the boat for serious fishing, while a roof-mounted davit and tender package add independence and safety for remote cruising. 

Inside, the cabin is fully insulated and arranged for comfort. A suspension-mounted helm chair, wrap-around settee with convertible berth, a quarter berth, and split cuddy staterooms provide sleeping and seating options for extended outings. The galley includes a refrigerator-freezer, induction cooktop, speed oven, and solid-surface counters. The enclosed head compartment is industry leading for the vessel size and offers a freshwater toilet, Corian counter, and separate shower stall. Heating and defrost systems support all-weather operation. 

Electronics and communications are centered on a Garmin navigation suite with multifunction displays, radar, sonar, VHF, and cameras. A Fusion stereo system provides audio throughout the vessel. To support extended stays off-grid, the boat has been wired for a customer-supplied Starlink Mini antenna for satellite connectivity.

Port Angeles, WA — BRIX Marine has announced the development of a new long-range cruiser, the 4014-CTC, a 40-foot catamaran designed for extended coastal travel. The vessel features Volvo’s IPS propulsion system, updated hull geometry, and an integrated electronics suite focused on navigation, communication, and vessel control.

The 4014-CTC is powered by twin Volvo D6-IPS650 engines, each rated at 480 horsepower. The design includes Volvo’s Dynamic Positioning System for station-hold functionality, IPS joystick controls for improved low-speed maneuvering, and block heaters on each engine. The IPS pods are treated with Prop Speed foul-release coating, and the vessel is covered under Volvo’s Marine Leisure Extended Coverage (IPS20), which provides five years or 2,000 hours of protection.

The hull is based on BRIX Marine’s Classic Tunnel Catamaran design, with modifications to the demi-hull shape, stem angle, and deadrise. These updates are intended to increase efficiency at lower speeds and reduce the energy required to bring the vessel on plane. The hull maintains the same top-end speed while offering a larger cruising range. Paired with the IPS drives, the vessel is expected to reach sprint speeds in excess of 40 knots and a cruising range exceeding 700 nautical miles.

Port Angeles, WA – BRIX Marine has announced the launch of its latest vessel, the Bridge Cat 49 (4519-DCT), constructed for Bridgemans Services Group to provide safe and reliable workforce transportation. The 44-foot personnel transfer vessel, named Bridge Cat 49 (BC49), accommodates up to 45 passengers plus 3 crew, and is built to meet Transport Canada passenger vessel requirements for use in British Columbia, Canada.

Bridgemans selected BRIX Marine to develop the BC49 as part of its growing fleet, which supports personnel and cargo transport, marine services, and workboat operations. The vessel integrates advanced safety features and optimized functionality, ensuring reliable performance in demanding maritime environments.

Powered by Triple Yamaha F300 outboard engines, Olohana delivers efficient propulsion and dependable performance. Measuring 12.5 meters in length, it features Naiad’s renowned RHIB hull design, which ensures optimal stability and speed in both calm and challenging waters. The vessel’s custom finishes include meticulously selected upholstery, canvas, vinyl, and deck materials tailored to meet Hawaii Nautical’s operational requirements. Additional enhancements, such as black rub rails, web gates, updated hatches, and a custom collar color, add both functionality and visual appeal.

Built with versatility in mind, Olohana is designed to handle a wide range of activities, from coastal navigation to operations in diverse marine conditions. This thoughtful design reflects Hawaii Nautical’s dedication to providing exceptional ocean experiences.

Olohana includes a first-of-its-kind boarding design. BRIX and Naiad worked together to create a “swim club” side door in the collar system. These unique doors have an aluminum structure that hinges on the bottom, dropping to extend the side decks outboard. A telescoping swim ladder deploys off the boarding doors very close to the waterline. BRIX has used the “swim club” function on previous vessels, and this is the first time it has been successfully deployed on a RHIB.
